On April 2nd, 2019, students from 2C, 4A, and 4B attended Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night which was produced by students of Charles University and directed by John Martlew.
Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare’s most famous „transvestite comedies“, often noted by scholars as a powerful piece that challenges romantic ideals through literary devices of identity and dramatic irony.
Students in 4A0 are currently studying Twelfth Night in an IB preparatory course where they closely practice analysing texts through historical, contextual, and co-textual perspectives. Students are encouraged to envision the themes of Shakespeare’s work in context with the contemporary discussions on these themes.
